Kinvara is a beautiful village set on the shores of Galway Bay.

Situated midway between the rugged Burren and Galway City, our most famous landmark is the stunning Dunguaire Castle that overlooks the town.

Kinvara has had a long association with the sea. For centuries it has been a vibrant fishing village and trading centre. The majestic Galway “Hookers” (traditional West of Ireland cargo vessels) sailed from Connemara with cargos of turf (peat) in exchange for local farming produce. This is the home of Kinvara Smoked Salmon.
